Kingston Ave between Eastern Parkway and Atlantic already has plenty of businesses, and many of those are fine establishments with satisfied clientele. There remains, however, an opportunity for new retail businesses to cater to the tastes of the young and middle-aged professionals now making this neighborhood their home.
A coffee shop. We would love a coffee shop. This neighborhood is primed for a good coffee shop to be a relaxed gathering spot for the diverse local community. Nicely designed, quality coffee, tasty light fare, chill music, free wi-fi...classic Brooklyn neighborhood coffee shop. That business would do well here. We would patronize it with enthusiasm.
A casual dining spot. A stylish, comfortable restaurant with table service to get a well cooked meal with a wine or beer. That business would do well here.
A good grocery. Presently, the neighborhood is over-served with mediocre delis, about two per block for several blocks. But we don't have anywhere on the north end of Kingston with bakery-fresh breads, a decent selection of fruits and vegetables, coffee beans, good prepared meals and other staples New Yorkers take for granted. A good grocery like that would do well here.
We are certain many other types of business would also thrive in this stretch. The neighborhood is a vibrant mix of all types of people, including a growing mix of artists, professionals, freelancers, career starters, new families, working class and more, all of whom are craving a good cup of coffee around the corner.
